McCain doesn't care about solving the financial crisis, he's just scared to death of debating Obama. He knows that he's going to get demolished by Obama. That's why he wants to use any excuse to stop the debates. Obama shouldn't cave to him. This is a direct result of the new poll numbers showing Obama above 50% and with a 9% lead.

Only a follower of Ayn Rand could look at this mess and say it's due to over-regulation of the markets. If the Randians had their way there would have been no regulation at all and this mess would be a billion times worse. Look at what the companies did with the regulation that still exists and imagine the excess that would have occurred if they had complete free reign. They'd be giving $500,000 mortgages to homeless people and selling million dollar houses to dogs.

http://firedoglake.com/2008/09/03/fbi-wanted-obama-plotters-charged-but-a-rove-appointee-said-no/

So evidently three white men with a cache of weapons and a plan are nothing to worry about but a black guy with baby powder in prison is a major threat? I really worry about the ability, and the willingness, of the Bush Justice Department to protect Obama. Many of them have a problem with black people. The place is stacked with political operatives, in positions usually held by non-political career positions. I doubt there are many Obama supporters there, in fact I'd bet most of them would be less than sad about Obama's demise. Now we find out a Rove appointed US Attorney passed on a serious threat to Obama while freaking out over someone who couldn't have done anything to McCain? This is bullshit.

A Noun, a Verb and POW...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080911/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_vietnam_video

Anybody wanna guess why this was released now? This is an obvious attempt by McCain's campaign to once again remind people of his time as a POW. It appears this is all he can talk about. Never before has a man been so insistent on dwelling on such a horrible memory to the exclusion of much happier memories.

Racism...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080912/ap_on_re_us/oj_simpson;_ylt=A0wNcwiBV8pInA4B5QlH2ocA

How can this still be acceptable in 2008? Seating an all white jury, with members who have already decided their going to punish OJ for an unrelated case, is racism of the worst kind. There is no reason they shouldn't be able to find some black jurors to sit on the jury, at the very least they should move some of the black alternate jurors up to the regular jury so we can have some semblance of fairness.

Double Standard...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080912/ap_on_re_us/muslim_workers_prayer;_ylt=A0wNcwiBV8pInA4B5AlH2ocA

Can you imagine the outrage if an employer rejected the reasonable request for prayer of a Christian group? The Muslim religion is very specific about times and locations of prayer, it is not negotiable. By restricting these employees, the employer is violating the religious rights of their workers. I think they should sue this company out of business.

Poor Choice....

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080912/lf_nm_life/charity_dc;_ylt=AlsQ3J2.RBG2pZm5JPn_WDKGWo14

This list is flawed. Sure, Oprah gives a lot to charity but some of the others on the list are questionable. It seems they went by pure numbers without figuring out where that money went. Mel Gibson's inclusion is particularly perplexing. He is certainly not a charitable person, more of a horrible anti-Semite. It appears his "charity" goes to the Holy Family Church in Malibu which is his own personal church, constructed with his money. This church is not a charity, it is a huge ego-trip for Mel Gibson where he can go and worship with like minded bigots. I doubt they do anything to help the surrounding community. Just because any corrupt organization that calls itself a church can receive tax exemption doesn't mean they're making a positive difference for anyone.

While Chavez's words may seem odd to us, we can hardly sympathize with his situation (or that of Morales). We are the big dog on the block. Chavez and Morales face the constant threat of being overthrown simply because they don't allow us to choose their economic system. Our government sponsors criminals who attempt to overthrow their governments so they can install right-wing dictatorships who will give us favorable terms on oil. They had every right to expel our diplomats. In fact, I don't see why they didn't do that years ago. Our government has been after Chavez from the beginning and they appear to have also targeted Morales before he was even elected. Why should they deal with us when we insist on acting like children?

Is it any wonder Venezuela turned to Russia for help? We've certainly not given them any reason to trust us. They know the only way to prevent US intervention is to have a strong partner willing to defend them.

Think Condi, think...

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/08/rice.blacks.state/index.html

Well gee Condi, why do you think this is? Could it be that the Republicans are not hiring a lot of minorities because they hate minorities? Could it be that you've been working for a group of people who keep you around only because you make them look diverse while secretly they hate you behind your back? Of course you are the freakin' Secretary of State, if you don't see enough blacks at the State Dept. perhaps you should HIRE SOME!

It's about time. He's been a disaster from the beginning. I really hope they're successful in recalling him. Maybe California can get a government that actually knows what it's doing.

Stupid...

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=5758376

Sure, why not? That's how we solve our disputes in the adult world, we just kidnap those who we disagree with and deliver them to a heavily biased court so they can be executed. Why not just shoot him in the street like a dog? Israel is not a responsible player on the world stage, they're way too much of a loose cannon. To even suggest this action, much less carry it out, shows a serious lack of intelligence. What charges will they bring him up on? Trying to develop a domestic energy industry? Having a non-traditional opinion on the Holocaust? He is wrong on the Holocaust but he has every right to hold as many seminars as he wants. It only serves to make him look like a dick and make people sympathetic for the Jews. If I were Israel I'd be encouraging him to do it. It's not like anyone's attending who just isn't sure on the matter, everyone there already denies the Holocaust happened. He's preaching to the choir. By doing what they're suggesting it will immediately make people infinitely more sympathetic to Ahmadinejad and will hurt Israel's standing among all the countries except America (The US would unfortunately still support Israel even if they preemptively nuked Iran).

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-blinq/Ban_the_Sarah_Palins_Banned_Books_E-mails.html

We can talk about banning the Sarah Palin e-mails (which don't seem to be very widespread, I've heard nothing about them) when we get the Republicans on record in favor of banning the widespread, and racist, e-mails about Obama. I doubt whether these Sarah Palin e-mails even exist, but if they do they're not anywhere near as big a problem as the Obama ones. The Obama ones are exposing extreme racism among people who probably convinced themselves they weren't racist and they may just sway the election. I don't see the Palin e-mails doing that since anyone likely to be swayed by them isn't going to vote for her anyway.

Political Plagiarism...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,419001,00.html

Hmm, I know I've heard this policy before but I'm not sure where it was...hmmm...oh right. Obama suggested this months ago. Funny how the Republicans criticize Obama every chance they get and then enact the exact same policies he's been suggesting. He should sue them for plagiarism.

Racists...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26623540/

Typical. He's black and he has a Muslim sounding name so he must be a terrorist. This bullshit is why people don't sympathize with Israel. The sad thing is this is the kind of thing the Republicans are trying to get us to emulate.

Stick To Your Day Job...

http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1839500,00.html

You've got 535 people in Congress, 100 Senators and 435 Representatives. Now, [my wife] Gena and I went to the House chamber last year. They were debating a bill. Well, not debating — they were screaming at each other across the aisles. And I'm watching them and thinking, this looks like a grammar school class. Who do we hold accountable in the House of Representatives? If you blame one Congressmen for something, he blames Joe Blow over there. Well, how do we know? Let's reduce it down to one or two Congressmen per state. First of all, we'd save millions in salaries and secondly, now we'll know who to blame.

And here is where Chuck proves he knows nothing about the government. Let me break it down.

House of Representatives:
435 members
members allotted based on population (more power for larger states)
less deliberative body more closely in tune with the passions of the people because they're elected every 2 years.

Senate:
100 members
members allotted two per state regardless of population (much more power for smaller states)
more deliberative body, members elected every 6 years.

Congress is a compromise that was worked out by the Founding Fathers to balance the interests of the larger states with those of the smaller states. The smaller population states (mostly Republican states) benefit greatly from the present composition of the Senate. If the House were reduced to one or two members per state regardless of population it would put all the power in the hands of the small states completely disenfranchising the larger states. One person in New York would be infinitely less powerful than one person in Alaska. In addition, the electoral college would have to be changed because currently the composition of the electoral college is determined by the number of Congressmen and Senators each state has. If that were reconfigured to reflect the new composition of Congress, we would never see a Democratic President again and one person in Alaska's vote would become equal to hundreds or even thousands of residents in New York.

Get rid of our tax structure. That's what's killing our people: the income, state, capital gains, corporate, property and social security taxes. It's not right, and it's not the way it was intended in the beginning from our founding fathers. Implement a Fair Tax where we tax consumption.

This would lead to poverty on a horrible scale while ushering in a period of unimaginable wealth for those who are already rich. The gap between rich and poor would grow ever larger as poor people spend all their money on sales taxes. It would also usher in a new caste system where the rich can pass all their money to their offspring who will advance by virtue of their parents' wealth instead of their own talent.

I think you can learn from history. When I started reading, I got interested in the Barbary Wars, when extreme Muslim pirates were capturing our ships and holding them for ransom. Congress decided to negotiate with the Barbary pirates, and Tripoli started a war with us anyway. It was interesting reading about this situation where we dealt with extremists 200 years ago, and thinking about where we are now.

The Barbary Pirates attacked our ships because they were pirates, not because they were Muslims. We started a war with them to protect our interests and we won. We didn't invade Libya and occupy it for 100 years. Nor did we invade Ethiopia based on lies and then occupy that for a decade.

As an option. I'm not trying to cram it down people's throats. Give people an option, a choice, of what they want to do. We teach evolution in school. Why can't we give kids an alternative choice of a Bible curriculum and let them make up their own mind?

By teaching the bible in public schools it ceases being "an option" for those kids who aren't Christian. In a majority Christian school, which is almost all schools in this country, a child is going to realize that they have no choice in the matter. They will go along, and have their rights infringed, in order not to get beat up or penalized by the teacher.

That's a personal thing. It happens to millions of young kids today. That's because of our open society, where sex is not a big thing: "If it feels good, do it." These young kids take that to heart and wind up making a big mistake, just like Bristol did. But you cannot condemn her. It's a mistake she's going to have to live with, but that has nothing to do with Sarah Palin and her abilities as a leader.

Funny how it's only a personal thing if the person involved is a Republican. It's never a personal thing when the mother is a black woman in the inner-city. It wouldn't be a personal thing if Obama had a pregnant 17 year old daughter.

Idiots Who Don't Understand The Meaning of the Word Interventionist...

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/laland/2008/09/when-markets-ar.html

Huzza what?!?!?!

Things are getting worse. The Bush administration -- hardly a bunch of eager interventionists -- had no choice; it couldn't save these companies with jawboning and bluster about a bazooka full of cash; it had to take them over.

If the Bush Administration were any more interventionist they'd have invaded Moscow by now. They have intervened EVERYWHERE. They intervened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, etc... As for the economy, their entire policy has been intervention. I don't see how much more they could be doing, they've gone as far as they possibly could to prop up these corporations and make sure their millionaire stock holders get to keep their money.

Unlikely...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,417646,00.html

So the Dems should praise Lieberman for stabbing his party in the back? Would the Republicans have praised a Republican Senator who got up at the DNC and repeated horrible lies about McCain in order to give the Dems a cover of bipartisanship? They strip people of their committee assignments for voting their conscience, imagine what they'd do to someone like Lieberman.

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/06/mccain-camp-to-chastise-dems-for-discarding-american-flags/

This is such a bullshit lie and yet people will believe it. The reality is that some Republican who was lurking in the stadium after Obama's speech waited until everyone walked away for a minute and stole thousands of flags (someone should really look into criminal charges for that) and gave them to the Republicans so they could claim the Dems hated America. It's an absurd thing to even suggest and it just goes to prove McCain's lying when he says he never questioned Obama's patriotism.

If Only...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,417601,00.html

Who wants a cold war? Well, the Heritage Foundation for one. They get a big hard on when the word war is mentioned. I think they probably have to leave the room when someone starts talking about War-ren G. Harding.

I would love it if our country had the moral high ground to denounce what Russia's doing, but we don't. We invaded Iraq for manufactured reasons before they invaded Georgia for manufactured reasons. We supported the illegal move of Kosovo leaving Serbia before they supported the illegal move of S. Ossetia and Abkhazia leaving Georgia. We have no room to speak. If we hadn't done what we did, it's entirely possible Russia wouldn't be doing what they're doing because if we had obeyed International Law, Russia wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

We're going to have a really hard time solving this problem because most of Europe is essentially being held hostage by Russia for the oil they need and the US, the only country with the will to do anything, is rendered impotent due to our hypocrisy.

Man, if only there was some point in history where we could look to see where we went wrong...oh, wait...there is. If we hadn't elected Bush and his fuckwit moron brigade all this could have been avoided (except maybe for the Kosovo thing because even the Dems were a bit pollyannish about that). Too bad nobody listened to those of us who foresaw this.

This is horrible! There couldn't be more of a difference between the DNC and the RNC. From what I've heard, the police at the DNC were respectful for the most part and any police that got out of line were removed quickly from the situation. At the RNC on the other hand, the police were committing acts of horrible violence against peaceful protesters. I'm sure this is at the direct order of Bush and Cheney and their fascist friends. They can't stand protest, even peaceful protest, because they hate people who are not like them. Something has to be done about this, this isn't America.

Fox Lies Again...

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/05/top-7-myths-lies-and-untruths-about-sarah-palin/

This is some weak shit. Certainly not as bad as some of the things the Republicans and the media have been saying about the Obamas (he's a secret Muslim with designs on destroying the country, he doesn't say the Pledge of Allegiance because he hates America, etc...). Most of this stuff, if it's even been said at all, is being said by whackos on the fringe. The mainstream media, on the other hand, is spreading the lies about Obama which makes them much worse.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has been subjected to an intense amount of media and public scrutiny since she was named as John McCain’s vice presidential pick one week ago.

That'll happen when you run for Vice President. What, did she expect them to ignore her? The fact that she was completely unknown could explain why the media needs to dig up some information on her.

Many of the attacks have come in the form of unconfirmed reports on the Internet.

And, of course, Fox has also been diligent in digging up and exposing unconfirmed reports on the internet about other people like...oh, I don't know...Barack Obama?

1) Palin “Joined a Secessionist Political Party”

Her husband was a member. She addressed their meeting. Imagine for a second if Michele Obama was a member of the SLA or the Black Panthers and Obama had addressed their meeting? Do you think Fox would be cool with that?

2) Palin Supported a “Nazi Sympathizer”

I've never heard anyone say that Pat Buchanan was a "Nazi sympathizer", though a case could probably be made. What they've said is that he's anti-Semitic. That's beyond debate as far as I'm concerned. He is anti-Semitic. If Obama so much as appeared on the same stage as Jimmy Carter the right-wing (and Fox) would have a hissy fit and Carter's not even a true anti-Semite.

3) Palin “Wants Creationism Taught in School”

One is not a maverick just because they favor teaching both creationism and evolution. It would be like teaching math and then teaching Bubba's special math along side it and telling kids that both have their merits. Creationism shouldn't be taught in public schools, any other opinion is extremism.

4) Palin “Was Nearly Recalled” While Mayor

Palin was almost recalled but as far as I know it was because she fired the librarian, not for firing the police chief (man, this woman loves to fire people). Just because the court found that she had a right to fire the librarian or the police chief doesn't make it right and certainly doesn't mean the people can't recall her if they want.

5) Palin “Opposes Sex Education”

I don't think anyone suggested she opposes all sex education in schools, abstinence only is after all technically sex education, though I wouldn't say it's very educational.

6) “This Picture Proves Palin is …”

The bikini gun photo was an obvious photoshop. I haven't seen any liberal bloggers use it for anything other than humor value. It's not like it's inaccurate though. She was a beauty pageant contestant and she likes to kill things with guns. I'd say it's a pretty good encapsulation of her personality.

7) Palin is the grandmother, and not the mother, of Trig Palin

This was directly caused by the cover-up of her daughter's pregnancy. It's not the fault of the bloggers that the truth was hidden from the media causing people to make incorrect guesses. Once the truth was revealed, this rumor stopped for the most part.

Oops, they can't even get this right. It's like running against the JV squad, and the JV squad may just win. Horrible. How can anyone claim that the Republicans are the party that supports the troops? Never mind the fact that the troops are overwhelmingly supporting Obama, now shit like this surfaces?

Wouldn't Surprise Me...

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1838305,00.html

Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if this war was orchestrated to help McCain's campaign. The Republicans don't care about human lives, especially foreign lives. They figured they could get this war on the cheap, possibly embarrass Russia, and get their boy in the White House so they could start even more wars. I hope it doesn't work.

Double Standard...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080904/ap_on_re_us/baby_death_microwave

All I have to say is, if she were a man she'd be headed to the chair right now. No question. Someone puts a baby in a microwave, and then tries to blame a little kid, that's pretty much the definition of a death penalty offense. She got off easy because she's a woman, plain and simple.

They're Way Too Busy to Bring This Up...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20080903/pl_mcclatchy/3035478

The Same Old Republican Hate...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_tv_palin_s_night

The media are idiots. That speech was nothing but one big attack ad on Obama with no actual substance. First off, she lied throughout the whole thing. Second, she offered no hint at how she might govern. I guess when you know you have nothing to offer, the only choice you have is to go negative. She's in the right company for it. The Dems spent their convention telling people exactly how they'd change the country. People actually worried that the Dems weren't attacking McCain enough among all the substance. The Republicans on the other hand have done nothing but attack. They've offered nothing in the way of a vision for the country because they have none. All they have is negativity and racism. It's sad that a once great party, the party of Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, has fallen so far so fast.

It's Not Going To Work...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26539124/

The reason minorities avoid the Republicans is because the Republicans make it clear that they hate minorities. They may come out every 4 years and pretend they love non-white people but their actions the other 3 years prove they're lying. Why would a black person vote for a party that opposed civil rights, invented the southern strategy, opposes affirmative action and wants to destroy the government services that are often the difference between life and death for the poor? Just because a few minorities have deluded themselves into believing they have any place in the Republican Party doesn't mean most minorities are fooled.

I was really hoping we'd have a real choice this year, that we could actually get a real Democrat, but I always knew that wasn't going to happen.

U.S. immigration authorities had sought to deport Qatanani on grounds that he failed to disclose on his green card application a prior arrest and conviction in Israel for being a member of Hamas — a group classified as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

Israel doesn't distinguish between Muslims either, he was probably just accused of being Hamas because he was walking down the street and looked Muslim.

He said he was not notified of the charges against him nor his conviction and that he was mentally and physically abused while in detention.

I'm shocked. Israel torturing people? Where do you think our government learned it from?

Riefkohl also noted that Qatanani has received support from U.S. law enforcement officials, including U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie. Christie was among several high-ranking law enforcement officials who attended a Ramadan fast-breaking celebration at the Paterson mosque.

Now, when a complete shill of the Bush Administration like Chris Christie is even willing to side with a Muslim you know the guy has a case. Of course, I'm sure Christie has some sort of political motivation (the guy's a freaking shill), at least it's led him to do something good for once.

Funny, the Enquirer was the Republicans' favorite newspaper a few weeks ago when they were spreading rumors about John Edwards. All of a sudden they don't like them. Perhaps they realized that rumors go both ways. It's highly unlikely this is true, it is the Enquirer after all, but I hope this dogs them to the end. They deserve it for automatically believing the rumors about Edwards.

When Will They Learn?...

www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/02/rnc.log.cabin/index.html

Why would any gay person ever be a member of the Republican Party? Don't they understand that the Republicans would throw them all in prison, or worse, if they could? How many times do you have to hear the Republican leadership call for anti-gay laws before you get the message? I don't care how much they've convinced themselves that McCain and Palin are different, they're not. Palin is extremely anti-gay. McCain will do whatever it takes to become President and that means he will scrub the few pro-gay actions from his history. He will not be a friend of the gay community in the White House because he knows who his masters are. People need to realize that McCain is a blank slate. He held all kinds of moderate positions as recently as 2 years ago. All that has disappeared. He was against the tax cuts before he was for them. He was for the immigration bill, he even sponsored it, before he was against it. He called Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell agents of intolerance 8 years ago, now he's whoring himself out to their organizations for votes. There is nothing he won't compromise to get elected. Even his best friends should be wary of him.

Impeach Joe Lieberman...

www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/03/rnc.democrat.reaction/index.html

Joe Lieberman should immediately be kicked out of the Democratic caucus. I know it may cost us the Senate but I don't give a damn anymore. The man has NO scruples. He will say ANYTHING to get what he wants.

He promised the Dems that he wouldn't do this and yet he couldn't help himself. He's everything that people hate about politicians. He would sell out his own wife if he thought it would get him into the White House. He's blindly ambitious even for a politician.

He should at the very least lose every single one of his committee assignments. Maybe he can get the chairmanship of the bathroom cleaning committee. I don't care how long he's been in Congress. He's not a Democrat. His committee assignments and chairmanships are a privilege bestowed upon him by the Dems, they aren't a right. I'm sick of this shit from him. He spits in the Dems face 24/7 and yet they do nothing to him in return. There need to be consequences. He's no longer a Democrat and it's time we stopped pretending he is.

If his constituents have any brains among them they should immediately call for his recall. He was elected by a Democratic district to work with the Dems. Granted, they should have known better at the time, but how do they reconcile what he's doing now with the things he was saying at the time?

Don't Hold Your Breath...

www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/09/double_standard.html

The media will never make this connection. Not only because they love McCain and Lieberman and the whole gang, but because the Wright issue was always more than a political issue. The media has a seriously racist streak that was revealed when they jumped on the Wright controversy. Sure, every single one of them has a Rabbi or a Priest or an Imam or whatever that's said the same or worse but this was a black preacher and that made it unforgivable. All these white media elites had no frame of reference when talking about Obama's church. They'd never been to a black church so they assumed this was unusual or beyond the pale.

It Just Keeps Coming...

The plot thickens. I heard she also tried to fire a librarian because she refused to ban some books that Palin didn't like. This is going to be Bush/Cheney all over again, I can feel it.

Double Standard...

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/01/palin.evangelicals/index.html

Can you imagine the reaction if one of Obama's daughters were 17, pregnant and unmarried? (Of course Obama's daughters are much younger but just a hypothetical). How about Joe Biden's daughter? There's a double standard at work here. They're willing to forgive her pregnancy, like they were willing to forgive Larry Craig and Ted Haggard, because they need Sarah Palin. Anyone else would be thrown under the bus regardless of whether they had an abortion or not. The Catholics and the Protestants are very clear on their opinion of unwed mothers, and underage unwed mothers get even worse treatment. If Obama had a teenage daughter, and she got pregnant, she'd be called the worst names in the book. Obama would be accused of being a bad father, and Michelle would be absolutely destroyed by the same people who are now rallying behind Palin. The black community would be called to task for supposedly promoting promiscuity through rap music and absentee fathers (funny how girls far from the inner city still manage to get pregnant). Bottom line, they are falling behind Palin because they want her to give them what they want, not because they actually have any compassion for unwed mothers who choose to take the pregnancy to term.

Please, Let Him Ruin It For You...

abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Conventions/story?id=5707463&page=1

Yes, please, put Tom DeLay all over the Republican Convention. He really does, more than anyone else, exemplify the Republican Party's values.

Experience...

http://thepage.time.com/mccain-camp-response-to-obamas-remarks-on-palins-experience/

By every measure, Obama has more experience than Palin. That's just a fact. His campaign has more employees, as he stated. He's also got far more government experience. She wasn't even Governor of Alaska when this campaign started. She was still running her little bedroom community. When Obama was a standout Senator in Illinois, she wasn't even Mayor. She's already mired in controversy and the Dems are just getting started on her. Did McCain vet her at all? She can rest assured the Dems will. If in the span of less than a week we've already discovered a massive corruption investigation and the unwed pregnancy of her daughter, imagine what we'll find by November. Even if the McCain campaign can be believed, and this is really the extent of it, the report will be coming from the Alaska Legislature less than a week before the election, and it's not going to be good. The McCain campaign may just pull an October surprise on themselves if they're not careful.

Cry Babies...

http://thepage.time.com/carly-fiorina-statement-on-gov-palin-attacks/

Seriously, if you're going to run for VP you're going to have to expect someone to criticize you. Have they laid off Biden? Hell, they've said worse about Michelle Obama and she's not even running. This is all part of the Republicans' strategy of screaming every time anyone so much as mentions Palin's name with anything other than fawning praise. This is the whole reason they nominated her, they figured the Dems would be deathly afraid to criticize a working mother with 5 kids, especially given the manufactured controversy about sexism supposedly directed towards Hillary. I really hope this doesn't work. She has to realize that she's going to be questioned, and not everyone is going to like her. If she doesn't, how is she going to be an effective VP?
